Two winners at Matamata

31st October, 2011

Graham Richardson is having more than an amazing week.  Saddling up two winners just 4 days ago at Te Rapa soon rubbed off on Friday 28th October at Matamata when the stable greeted the winners circle two more times and not just the winners but also the placegetters in both races.

Runaway winner Sequin, by Pins, bolted in by 3 and 3/4 lengths to win her first race over 1200m followed by stable mate Rock My World.  In Race 8, promising 3 year old Miss Upstart by Snippetson trailed the leaders then switched to the outside for a very gutsy win to score by a head over 1400m with unlucky stable mate Green Supreme unable to find a clear run to finish fast in third place.

A double at Te Rapa

25th October, 2011

A tough win in strong company by Mydiamond Bracelet by Al Akbar over 1400m on the 24th October at Te Rapa more than pleased her connections but there was more to come.  Her winning dividend of $51.60 and $11.80 a place added huge smiles to all involved.  Win number two for the day came along in the following race 9 when Villifye by O'Reilly scored by a long neck over over 1200m.

Congratulations to all the winning connections.

SIRCROSS DELIVERS THE GOODS

Saturday 24th September, 2011

7 year old gelding Sircross by Cape Cross delivered the goods to win in fine style at Ellerslie on the 24th September over 1600m. Jumping well from the gates, Sircross soon took the lead and was allowed to dictate terms in front. With only 6 lengths covering the field, apprentice jockey Harry Kasim allowed him to steady rounding the sweeping bend only to kick again after turning, gaining a further 2 lengths on the rest of the field.  In what was shaping up to be a sprint home, Sircross never laid down when challenged by late swoopers at the 200m mark, going on to win by a head with a short neck to 3rd place in a time of 1.40.73, the last 600 in 37.83.
